ANZAC Day invites us to remember those who served. To honour this year’s ANZAC Day, I’m offering a free poppy cross‑stitch frame pattern—an easy way to create a lasting tribute.
A personal tribute to the two men who feature in these photos
My grandfather enlisted in the New Zealand Navy at just 15 years old in 1944. He dedicated 32 years of service before retiring in 1976, then went on to share stories until his passing in 2014.

Another person who I only learned of recently when doing family history research, is my great-great‑granduncle, who served in World War I and died at the Somme on 16 Sep 1916 at 22.
